More London Meetings

I am back in London. Today I attended an architecture review meeting which was tough, I was expecting to be grilled on costs, professional estimates, etc but we ended up reviewing assumptions and baselines. I have a reprieve until next week but it means yet another trip down here.

My flight got to Heathrow early so I hung around for a while to make use of the wifi and get some work finished rather than head straight into the city. I was working in Ludgate Hill and St. Pauls is at the top of the hill so I took 10 minutes to wander around and take a few photographs which I will post on my flickr site tomorrow.

I have a meeting with a telecoms vendor tomorrow to get an overview of their services and products. It should be interesting but has been scheduled to run over lunchtime so my stomach has started to panic in advance as I expect there will only be coffee and cookies on offer.

I joined twitter today and have a friend already. Find me here.

The web has been awash with stories of the threatened Google/Viacom lawsuit. I recently finished "The Search" by John Battelle which was a great read. I read it in a single sitting and couldn't put it down. It will be interesting to watch and see how this lawsuit pans out.

I foolishly didn't pack a book to read for this trip as I was trying to travel light but it looks like I overshot the mark. I hate not having a book to read.

London Again

I was back in London for a few days last week to attend a telecoms meeting. Having arrived early I went for a wander and was pleasantly surprised to find myself at the site of the Globe Theatre. I had my old Sony digital camera with me and took a few photographs for my flickr page.

The view across the Thames was terrific.

First Post Using Ubuntu

This is my first post using Ubuntu and I am pretty pleased with myself. My recent experience of Windows Vista has finally pushed me into the open source fold.

I am sure it will be the start of a long and happy relationship.
